This large coffee table is perfect for any interior space! The piece was made from a massive round live edge slab (tree slice) of Monkeypod. This wood species is very similar to Black Walnut and features rich chocolate, brown and bronze heartwood throughout the middle with a creamy colored sapwood along the edges. This piece also features some black line spalting which can be viewed in the sapwood. The wood has been responsibly harvested, air-dried, kiln-dried, flattened on both sides, sanded smooth and finished in multiple layers of an oil based film finish to protect against moisture and scratches. The age-old finishing technique is not a quick procedure. The film finish has been lovingly built up slowly over a 3-4 week time. This old school finishing application is superior in durability, to the touch and appearance. The satin sheen finish provides a natural appearance, yet subtle glow. The gorgeous top has been married to three raw steel hairpin legs that have been clear-coated for protection. This circular coffee table is transitional and would work in an industrial, modern, mid-century or traditional interior space. It's simply awesome! The finished piece measures approximately 30" x 30" x 19 1/2" and the table top is a whopping 3 3/8" thick. Whoever purchases this piece for their home or office is going to be in LOVE!
