Created with a large natural amethyst, 4 natural freshwater seed pearls and in an ornate rose gold filled setting, the same bracelet in solid gold would cost thousands of dollars.
Dating to circa 1870, the central amethyst measures 15 mm, or nearly 7/8 inches in diameter, and weighs 9.6 carats. Clear and fine, its coloration is an even, medium purple with lilac highlights.
Intricate knife edge details, beading and scrolls decorate the rose gold filled bangle top area. The back was designed with open work, gate style precision.
It comes in the original box with the interior silk printed, "R. Meyer Juwelier, Miden (in Germany). A safety chain provides security.
